Gentle Giant does Star Trek

I just came across this new license announcement. I am not a big fan of the twelve inch stuff, so right off the bat this does nothing for me. But, could this be the shoe in the door that leads to a mini bust license. I know that Sideshow was doing them, but I have not seen anything new in Sideshows line for a while. Now dont get me wrong, I love Sideshow. But when it comes to minibusts, Gentle Giant is it. The Star Trek universe would make for some interesting busts.

A bust of Weyoun or Garak would be awesome.

Certainly lots of potential for a huge line of mini-busts here, that's for sure.

For the love of GOD, There has to be one quality Star Trek line that actually sticks, please! You'd think Trekers would be the right demo. SS PF and bust lines both tanked. GG showed this proto 12"er at some con, so maybe that will be the magic formula.

If they actually pull this or minibusts off, all will be forgiven on the BHstormtrooper and the commander debacles. I'd really like to see all the bridge crews TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY (don't care about Enterprise, but if they do it I'll probably buy) plus some favorite aliens (green slave girl, Andorians, Klingon males and females, Cardassians, Borg, etc.).

I would probably go for a TOS 12" line if they did it. Also would go for busts.

I really have a love hate relationship with this company. And my hate is focused completly on the way that they administer the Star Wars mini bust products. I have never had a problem with any of their other products, or how they are distributed. I would love to see Star Trek mini busts, but I hope if they make them, they dont play the silly games that they do with the Star Wars line.

I hope that Gentle Giant will issue some sculpts based on the Original Series Romulans... really undermerchandised characters, to date.
