The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Mine just arrived surprisingly - wasn't supposed to arrive for four days.

But no, yours is the 30th Anniversary:

I got the latest edition, the 35th Anniversary:

But in two years, we'll ALL buy the 40th Anniversary...

Yeah media is so disposable nowadays I am okay with constant repeats because at this point I only buy physical releases of my absolute favorites and this is one of them.
Eventually our light will be extinguished.

All this talk, now I feel like I have to watch ALL my versions just to see the differences. Like I saw someone on a chat somewhere point out that when the widescreen cuts the top off, you don't see the gruesomeness of Wheeljack's corpse.

So there are two 4k ones then. Wonder if there is a difference other than the cover.

The 30th anniversary is bluray, not 4K.

For the 35th Anniversary, the film received a new 4K transfer as the basis for the 4K disc AND the bluray (1080) disc. Your 30th is bluray, but this new 35th bluray should be better looking.

I rely on highdefdigest for reviews. This 35th review (scroll down to video section) explains it pretty clearly. Even has a video comparison (so you don't need to watch it ALL again SDguy! - unless you really want to!)

EDIT: sorry SD, you were talking about editing differences, not transfer differences. My bad!

That's a cool site, and those side-by-side vids are great

Ah. I was just going by the Amazon link where I bought it (does say 4k there). I don?t have a 4k tv so I likely won?t upgrade.

So Zen how does the 4K handle the HDR? Good stuff?

As an aside what a shame that we don't have XM doing all 5 Dinobots. All of the Dinobots are so awesome looking. Even the superb original G1 toys can't get reissues!
