I just read an interview with Michael Oeming where he was asked for his opinion on the upcoming Omega FLight series being reduced to a 5 issue mini series instead of an ongoing.
AlphaFlight.net: Since Marvel told you to change the series to a mini, how have your plans for the story changed? How does it effect the character development you had planned?
Oeming: I don't want to say too much, but a lot of the Beta Ray Bill stuff had to go. My ties to his human side. There was a story-line about his earth mother and Bill finding him. She was kind of based on my own mother, who's blind love for me would let me get away with anything. I really wanted to write that character. Just enough to touch the reader, but not bore them, you know?
I am really sad to hear this. I was looking forward to some more characterization to Bills character now that he has a human alter ego.

the mother in question is the mother of his new HUMAN identity...not Bill at all.

So, he has a human identity that has a whle family and history but at the same time beta ray bill that is alien and comes from another planet?

What a way to ruin a cool character. 5 issues I won't be buying. I won't read BRB until another writer has a crack at it.
