If Omega Flight is only 5 issues, why bother with it at all? What could you possibly do in 5 issues that will be relevant to the characters invovled?

Because if it does get picked up as an ongoing, then more story issues and such will be resolved/visited?

Honestly - I do not understand why Marvel writers feel the need to mess with a character that has a solid fondation and a great background story already established.

Why can they not build off what made this character a fan favorite to begin with without totally destroying what made him a fan favorite in the first place.

I can understand why writers don't like certain characters - then move them off the book without blowing them up, storywise or other.

A lot of the fans are old schoolers who remember the classic tales. By screwing with a chracter, they mess with an already established reader base and risk alientating them to the point of avoiding purchasing the book.
