My immediate thought as well for a JND 2-pack.

Absolutely superb. THAT'S how they should have done the painting of Indy's eyebrows.

A lot of praise, but did anyone here actually order this?

Indy is a write-off. Let's hope they might do a 2.0 later on. Who knows?

I believe it is catered more for the S Korean market. Both statues will likely be a hit there.

Both Squid Game pieces are STILL available, even with an ES of 199 - I'm quite surprised.

It leaves me wondering if the saturation point for this type of product has been reached. Which is understandable.

Given the way things are going (economically) in Asia and the West, paying for these high priced dolls (and I don't use the term "doll" negatively) is most likely making less and less sense for people.

While some may argue that the quality of likeness is improving (that's not my personal opinion, by the way), ultimately, I believe more is needed to justify spending the money. Perhaps Squid Game is an entertaining TV show - but then, so was King of Queens, and I wouldn't spend any money on a Hyper Real 1/3 scale doll of any character from that show.

Now the novelty of "realism" with these dolls has worn off, and more companies are offering similar specifications in their figures (e.g. Queen, Infinity and to some degree Blitzway) people can afford to be extremely chosey in what they allow into their collections - and JND needs to start considering WHAT customers want, rather than WHAT JND wants to serve up on a plate.

I agree. Was anyone asking for these characters (even if they are extremely well done)? At these price points, you have to give the people what they want. Guts is a great example - a piece that is desirable with a top notch prototype sold out very quickly.

Exactly! Guts is a good example.

JND has been on this avant-garde journey for some time, offering "random" characters and themes that seem to cater to no one particular, copying the releases of other companies, or with the excuse that the CEO liked the idea. And that's fine if you're a fine arts artist, making one of a kind products - but if you're a commercial company, heavily invested in mass production - that appoach seems to be bordering on idiotic or at the very least, arrogant.

In many ways, I think this contributes to the general negative perception of JND, because this - "I don't give a f*ck what the audience wants" attitude, coupled with super high pricing - just invites a desire from the community to see these guys humbled, put in their place, and to see failure as a result.

I think 2025 could be a key year for JND. We're deep into a recession (even if the legacy media wants to ignore it), and if JND wants to doggedly follow this path of excess, then I think this could be the very year that they push themselves into irrelevance. I would boldly suggest that Kojun Works is an abject failure in the eyes of the 1/6 community, and with companies like Infinty, Queen and Blitzway eating their lunch on the statue / large scale doll side of the market - there's not much room for JND to pivot.

So they better strongly consider what they release this year - because looking at the proposed line up for 2025, I see a lot of "failure" on the cards.
