Source: Stax September 7, 2005

IGN Filmforce reports that Marvel Entertainment has already found a director for its Ant-Man project, which falls under the new Paramount deal.

IGN FilmForce has learned that British filmmaker Edgar Wright is poised to direct Ant-Man. Wright apparently plans on making Ant-Man a comedy.

Wright previously directed and co-wrote "Shaun of the Dead".

To me it's just another incredible shrinking man remake but with a superhero twist to it.

I wish I was antman - I could shrink and do some pretty wonderful things to hats.

Shaun of The Dead was hilarious. I will most definitely give this a chance. I am not so attached to Ant-Man that I need it to be a straight-up superhero movie. I think Marvel may actually be doing the right thing here. The property could have a strong life as a comedy, but when you have superhero movies coming out of every studio, a guy who shrinks and talks to ants doesn't hold up that strongly against a guy who can fly, a guy with metal claws and chick with an invisible jet.

This might set Ant-Man apart form the rest of the superhero crowd. It can still be a superhero movie, just with a comic slant.
