There is no such a thing as too grim and gritty in my book. It is just that grim and gritty don't suit Barbara. There are some light hearted, go happy be lucky characters that you just can't do grim and gritty with. Barbara Gordon is one of them. You can make a serious story with them, they are no joke after all, but they can't be grim and gritty. If you try to make grim and gritty with them, it will feel just wrong like in Gail's run. imho.

Night Terror by John Kenn Mortensen
Some pretty fantastic illustrations here. No story just pics with eerie titles here and there. I think just about everyone has imagined some form of these monsters in their childhood. Glad I ordered this.

Looks cool. Speaking of monsters, I'm delving into Something Is Killing The Children...pretty good so far. I just finished Volume 2, and that last issue was fire, looking forward to the rest.

It looks pretty dark. The Color palet and everything. I like darkness and all kinds of monster designs, especially the good and unique ones. If it wasn't Batman, my favorite character would probably be Top Cow's The Darkness (Jakie Estacado) or McFarlane's Spawn.

I have to admit, i was too extreme on Darkness when i was a teenager and at my early 20s. I was a total edge lord. I am not all about Darkness now at the middle age of 39 but Darkness is still my favorite.

I heard about this comics before, but i didn't know that it got an Eisner Award. I will need to check it out in the future.

SIKTC is also being developed as a live-action series by Netflix. The team behind Dark and 1899 will be showrunning, and the writer and artist of the comic will be executive producers, so hopefully this will do the comic justice.
