Prime 1 offers a lower shipping price nearer to $325. That price gets you the statue in 2-3 months. The $625 is for faster shipping to the U.S. It arrives in 2-3 weeks. Huge box, shipped by air, direct to your house = high estimated price. Perhaps the final price could be lower but the estimate must be pretty realistic of what you will pay.
This is where companies like Secret Compass help the value conscious buyer. They get a large shipment of a variety of statues from Prime 1, by container, so the unit cost for shipping to them is much, much lower. Then they ship out in the US for $35 to $100 charged to the customer.
The downside is that the customer will have to wait an additional few months for the product as it will be shipped in bulk by sea freight, then train or truck to Secret Compass. Then it will be sent via Fedex, UPS or USPS to us. So we save quite a lot of money but have to wait longer. However, the shipping time for Secret Compass is probably roughly similar in overall time to the lower priced Prime 1 shipment, so we are saving in the order of $200+ vs the slow Prime 1 direct shipping. I think the time to us would be slightly longer going through a store as they have to re-ship it but probably only a few days longer.
The way I see it, we have to wait a year either way, what's another few months?
If you can afford it or willing to pay the extra $$$.
