Online Comic Book Subscription Services
I'm curious, who uses them?
Which ones are top notch?
How do they work?
There's really no close LCS near me so I'm thinking I might want to go that route.
I remember back in my LCS they had a box for me and would hold me each months new issue that I had subscribed too even some that I might like.
Do these services allow monthly subscriptions like so?
What if you don't want a particular title?
I know Marvel themselves have services as well as DC but I want something all around.
Then of course there's also one shots, and mini series that pop up, and the occasional book from a smaller publisher that catches your eye when you're at your LCS.
Just want to know what are the pros and cons of doing such a service. If I have any other questions I'll post again.
*NOTE* I do remember about one online service that bagged and backed all books you ordered too. Do all services do that as well?
Thanks!

I used to pre-order all my books through x-world. Great discounts off cover price, bagged and boarded to boot. You have several different shipping options, one of which used to be free shipping if you had all your books shipped together at the end of the month. I think they upped that to $4.99 now, could be wrong. I stopped doing it because with what they give you off cover price, I had a tendency to order a lot of stuff I didn't need.

I use mailordercomics.com faithfully.
Basically, it's like an online previews catalog; you pick and choose exactly what you want. Of course, you need to order 2 months out since it's based on PREVIEWS. Multiple shipping options: weekly, bi-weekly, monthly. You can maintain a pull list, but you can also add/subtract as many times as you'd like up to the monthly deadline.
My service has been great. Prices are excellent. As for bag/board, I believe you have to request it--that's not an option on the web site. I've heard they do it though--just at a cost greater than me doing it myself.

I'd been a long time subscriber to Westfield Comics. But a few months ago, I did some comparison shopping and I discovered that for the same set of monthly books, it was $60 cheaper to go with DCBS. With a potential savings of approximately $720 a year, DCBS now gets my business.

I also use them. I save about 30% per month, even with shipping charges. I buy all my Marvel & Indy's through them. I buy DC at my LCS cause I feel bad.

Gotta pay for previews and they don't come B&B sometimes you get variant covers for face value(normally DE comics), but DC they normally charge extra
