Only is you did as a change-o body (costume & bikini). Or the bikini would need to be very derivitave of the costume. Otherwise I think you're only looking at a fringe market. Of course it's all going to ultimately come down to the style and the sculpt. I have the Fathom bikini. It's an amazing sculpt though.

I think you need to careful here not to lose the identity of the heroine...I think there was a bikini/evening dress line of sculpts a while back that bombed because people didn't know who the ladies were!

Mmm...it brings to mind the Diamond Select Sue Richards evening dress sculpt. It was just a blonde woman in black evening dress, with her hair tied up and a necklace.

Well what ya need to do is incorperate the marvel outfit into the pin up.

cant just have a white dress/blond female and call it Sue Richards like demonhunter said.

Example Ms Marvel (warbird outfit), if ya gave her a cocktail dress with a slit in the leg. Would still need to add her bolt symbol on it.

If ya picked someone like Storm, there was a dress she had in a issue of X-treme x-men. Id have to find the pic but you knew it was her even tho she wore a dress. Had hints of her even with a lighten bolt ear ring on.

One of the X-Men card sets from the 90's had them in swimsuits, and there's been at least one Marvel Swimsuit Edition magazine. Also the Women of Marvel card set had a chase set.

I think this may be a very niche collectible. I prefer to have statues of Marvel characters in their costumes as opposed to swimsuits or other outfits.

I think it may work as a "variant" of them in their costumes but I'd prefer them in costume. Regardless here's some inspiration:

And Eric you can do the best of both worlds with Jean in her Here Comes Tomorrow costume. It's close enough to a swimsuit while still retaining her individual attributes, and is something used in the comics! What do you think? (with a fiery phoenix effect!)
