Snake slayer suggestions

I had to put 3 kits aside to start to do this bad boy.
I was just curious for some suggestions about the hanging material of the side of conan.
I included a pic of the area and figured you guys might know what to do it.
I just don't want to do it brownish since most of the figure is shades of brown and earth tones.

Looking freakin Awesome so far, as far as the material goes it's leather...so you gotta stick with the browns and earth tones.

I would put some raw sienna down than work it down with washes until you get what you want, should blend in nice with the dark browns.
