Question about thinning paint...

So I'm doing a small commission for a friend and when I picked up some paint I accidentally got a bottle of enamel. I didn't realize what it was until I had finished airbrushing the base coat (also my first time with an airbrush) so when it came time to clean up I kinda freaked out because water just wasn't cutting it haha. I had some 99% alcohol laying around that cleaned it up really nicely and I was wondering if I could also use it as a thinner for enamel paints if they needed it? Thanks in advance!

You could go to your hobby store, and you will find some enamel cleaner. But to me, they're very expensive. So, I went to my local walmart, and found the all purpose cleaner. It's pretty good, cleans my AB, and also enviromental friendly. Make sure to read that it does clean "enamel".

Oppssss.....I guess, I missread what you wrote. To me, I don't thin enamel paint with Alchohol. U should find its own thinner. If you use testor, they do have them. If you use Tamya, they have them too.

Hey thanks for the feedback. This was my first time airbrushing and kind of a spur of the moment sort of deal. Never had to work with thinners before. I tried using the alcohol though just as an experiment and it worked pretty well. But I will look into the actual thinners.
