3 of 4 page commission

took some pics of a 4-page commission of a friend of mine. artist is julius gopez of dragonlance

the concept was to do characters of a team or group per 1 art board which all interconnect into a massive piece. started with FF, then the avengers and now the hulk family. next up is "Marvel Knights" featuring spidey, DD, punisher, etc.

you'll notice as well that the skyline of each page features the main villain of each team/group

some characters didn't turn out right and could have been fixed with good references but the pieces are just fantastic when you really look at all the details put in.

here are my favorite drawings from the 3 pages...

Holy Crap!!! I think I just wet myself

This is frickin' amazing. Can I ask how much this cost? How does one get ahold of Mr. Gomez to commission such beauty?

this commission was an offshoot of us desiring to have the Jay Anacleto multi-page commission of the Marvel heroes. my friend went out and got the guy who could probably match the amount of detail Jay could put into a page.

i remember my friend quoting $200-$300 per page but i will ask him just to make sure. i don't think you will see the amount of work that he has put into each page from any other artist. i remember seeing the start of the FF page. mr fantastic alone took at least 2 weeks to be finished. he really takes it seriously when you tell him to go out with the details. i don't have Julius Gopez's email address but will let you know.

that might be a possibility in the future as i know my friend is commissioning carlo pagulayan for a souvenir t-shirt for his store. will let you know Alex if that becomes reality.

yup. the ant is a lot more detailed than what the pic shows. i remember seeing it the first time and commenting on the hair drawn on the ant.

glad you guys liked it. he hasn't had a project since dragonlance ever since he left his old talent agency. but he has done quite a number of commissions for comic book fans with varying amounts of detail depending on the budget.
