Secret bragging thread? Is it more pretentious to state you have a larger mortgage or a smaller mortgage?

I want to down vote this entire thread...

There will always be something that you want that is out of your budget even if you are a 7-figure millionaire you'll be outpaced by your 8-figure millionaire friends... And the companies that offer you things really shouldn't have to stay within few fan's budget. Apple made iPhone X at $1000, Hublot made a line of Tourbillion at $300,000... and its worth it to people who want it and can get it.

Mortgage really has nothing to do with it.. its just a matter of what % of your budget do you allocate to your various hobbies vs houses, cars, travel, family, restaurants, partying, etc... It's only an issue when that % starts overtaking things that you genuinely really need and affects people you need to support which I hope no one here runs into...

Hell no -- I wish Doomsday was less than my mortgage! I'd be bragging about that allll day long.

I find this thread to be more interesting bc I get a sense of the mortgages from other parts of the country It's a "getting to know the forum" thread with more whimsy

I'm not sure who the winners are in this thread aside from those who got great deals on homes in a better (for buyers) housing market.

I wanted to vote yes to support the notion that the statue is too expensive but couldn't.

Having a high mortgage in CA doesn't mean our home are any nicer than those in other states who can get literally the same quality house for 1/3rd the price.

I voluntarily pay more on my mortgage each month (because it makes a huge difference in saved interest) This statue is still more expensive even taking that into account, and before shipping and import duty.

I pay nothing to a mortgage as I live in my parents basement with my two wives, seven children, 2 basset hounds, hamster, and a cat with one eye. As such, I find this pricing outrageous and those who are such spendthrifts as to buy this or not live for free in a basement need to analyze their priorities. Wasting money on mortgages/statues. Pft.

You could live in a million dollar house and put enough down so your mortgage is lower than a PF.

Just do a payment plan and you won't even feel it.
