My take on the trailer:
Peter Jackson has become inflicted with the "Spielberg Taint". Waayyy too many "cool angle" shots. I think Peter might one up Spielberg on this one. His shots are great.
The completely ridiculous closeups of the vile island natives. Please. That freak grinning maliciously toward the the blonde babe, like some Mordor Orc reject. Ugh.
Jack Black is one ugly mofo.
The absolute preposterous notion that the lovely blonde gal (Anne?) could survive being tossed about like a Hacky Sack during Kong's battle with the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Yeah right. Totally agree I was like, it should be Gwen Stacy over and over again, neck snapping left and right.
Adrian Brodey is one ugly mofo.
This is one of those pure spectacle films. All special effects and style over substance. Spielberg channeled his Jurassic Park spirit into Peter Jackson for this one.
That being said, I'll still see it on the big screen. I love the original King Kong, and I'm hoping that the trailer is misleading, for right now there is practically ZERO atmosphere to be found.

All in all though, it's a fantasy movie and that's why ppl are going to see it. Though I still think Mighty Joe Young looked more realistic. Kong looks too...much of a character, which he is, just not natural looking. As for someone saying the fight scenes looked great, you really don't see any fight you just see them jumping at each other then it cuts. I don't think that constitutes as "great fight scenes". The CG is smooth but still not that realistic, I still think JP has better CG Dinos. But this is all blabbering, I'm very excited about the movie, I myself like the actors they picked, you want realism, well ugly is real, D
and I can't wait to check my brain at the door with some bon bons and popcorn in my lap
