XM is great for engaging with the community. Respect for that. In my opinion if you want to consider a head with hair, just add an additional head. Don't make the same mistake as Sideshow did with Psylocke. Tease a head that some people liked, then drop it for a surprise mystery box. XM is already taking orders too I believe with some already wanting what they see.

I hear what you're saying, but I'd be surprised if there was an uproar if the bald portrait went away. The character has never been represented that way.

These are presented as reimagined for the Samurai series so I don't think XM needs to be held to existing representations. Maybe I'm biased though cuz I like the bald look. Not more of the same especially since I have the P1 Deathstroke and the maskless portrait is awesome.
A good point though.

When the unmasked portrait was first revealed, the general response was "why is he bald?" I didn't hear much enthusiasm for that interpretation of the character.

I guess the real question is did it affect early sales numbers? One can interpret that the question even being raised by XM might mean yes.
But is the solution to take away and hope people like the replacement? Or offer a brand new head and market it as we listened and now we are giving you more.

I personally don’t like the bald portrait and wouldn’t ever display it.
I do love a few of the shots he put in the post with hair. Reminds me of mitsurugi from soul calibur
