This is really a phenomenal piece.
I was impressed with the footage of it last year, and just watched both reviews and I'm even more so now.
What I’m seeing in the mud here- evidence that the left foot was planted in one spot and then dragged back, while the right foot was in a different spot, then lifted up and then replanted to where it is now…that level of thought that went into how this character arrived at this exact pose...that just impresses the #$@! outta me!
That illustrates a moment in time so perceptively, and shows that the artist put himself fully into that moment to capture it.
I see a lot of amazing art here where the sculptors are great at capturing surface appearances.
They can twist and turn bodies and splay fingers and dazzle the viewer with showing every muscle and tendon strained.
There are only a few though, where I can see their thought processes in the finished work. Where I can see them truly thinking a scenario through and capturing the little nuances that imbue a fantasy moment with life, spirit, and verisimilitude.
I am so %$@ing sick of Batman. Everybody and their mongoloid cousin is a Batman fan. Most times it seems like DC is all Batman all the time, with only a passing nod given to other characters occasionally. I wouldn’t care if I never saw another Batman comic, movie, or toy ever made again,
And yet this work is so damn good, there is no way I’m going to be able to resist ordering this.
