Looks way better than the statue by that other company, the piece with the big chin recently shown (i am not talking about the Prime 1 piece)

It looks great - until you get to the head

These guys are going to want more than $1k - I'm sure, but I just don't see it being worth it.

Agree, however the way prices are going this time next year a 1/10 scale Iron Studios figure will be 1K.

The paint apps/technique to me look dated on every Darkside release

You guy's have been spoilt by the JND hyper life-like pieces
On the one hand, the portrait looks fine. Maybe he does look a little on the thin/young side. Maybe the paint app does look dated. The sculpted jacket looks great! ..i assume it is not real leather?

Textures look good. Display options are great.
Portrait could be better, but it gets the point across.

Ten years ago this would have been overwhelmingly well received.

Honestly, it looks very good. But now that Queen Studios announced they got the license, I'll wait until they specify if they will also produce 1/3 scale statues.

Weathering on the jacket and weapons looks top notch. Will the factory paint come remotely close?
Weathering take much love, logic and time.. three areas factory painters appear to lack from time to time.

There's a lot of truth in both these statements (IMHO).

But, therein lies the problem - product execution and prices have evolved in the last ten years, but pieces like this only appear to have evolved in one of those dimensions - price!

If they pitched this piece between $600 - $700 I'd say fair enough in terms of paint and relative lack of realism. As it stands in 2022, you'd be happy to pay that price for a 1:6 scale piece - let alone a 1:3 scale.

I'm sure people would be happy with this piece, but knowing what certain companies can do - it's shameful to see a (self named) high end collectibles company churn out something that would have been "ok" a decade ago.

With the shades on, he does look better.
