From the photo, it looks boring. I've never heard of the character either, but from the images, and the calls for nudity in the form of removable clothing (which I find ridiculous and juvenile - it's like these guys have never seen a naked woman) I can tell this isn't something that I need in my collection.

Was it a 80s cartoon movie? I may have seen something like that was it from block buster or Erols if I remembered correctly. I don't remember anything about it but there was one which I rented that had a outstanding painted artwork on the cover of the VHS? Or DVD? But the show really was bad imo and I fast forward it to the end. Not 100% sure but I think it was one I didn't liked 99.9% sure it was this. I don't think I will buy this line if it's based on any heavy metal related from this kind of series only because I was never a fan of the show or magazines I saw at the time tower records. Lol

It was an R rated animated movie released in summer of 1981.

It was an anthology movie with 6 different segments based on material from the magazine by different creators like Bernie Wrightson, Richard Corben, and others.
Taarna was the climactic segment and the character is revealed to be the one in the framing segments that introduce each story.

It's pretty thin gruel now, as this kind of barely attired badass warrior woman is a common image now. Back then, it was a little fresher- as was the idea of seeing an R rated animated movie with a lot of T and A on display.

Honestly- I'm still a fan of the film, and her segment is what the movie builds up to- but without her bird companion, the idea of a Taarna statue by herself is just not very enticing.
In the film she is a very thinly realized character and the only thing that really gives her any spark of interest is her relationship to her flying steed.

You obviously have access to the internet, so wouldn't it be easier to google who Taarna is and find out for yourself rather than ask the question on a forum and then have to wait for an answer?

Looks interesting. Bit of a risk I'd say producing this when say Artemis would be sure to sell and much more of a kick ass character.

Unexpected but I suppose Sideshow has a very large 'mature' fanbase (I'm talking about you 40+ folk) that would find this nostalgic. The success of MotU probably further encouraged Sideshow. That and Tom Gilliland likely being a fan. Personally, Harry was the most memorable character but nobody's gonna buy a statue of him hahaha.
