Outrageous shipping cost?
I bought a 1/2 scale Iron Man from a company called Game Harbors in Malaysia. The box is big and I’m sure has some weight to it (video link below) They say because of covid shipping costs have increased. They say the box is too big for UPS and EMS and only DHL will ship it for $1660! That’s more than the price of the statue! I’m stuck here, any advice guys???

Tell me about it! The statue is really nice and I’d like to get it home but shipping is more than what I paid for it by a fair amount.

Is that US dollars?
As $1660 Malaysian amounts to $387 US

I figured the shipping was going to be high, but this isn’t funny. I see things 1/2 scale on eBay being shipped to the US for far less. Hundreds not thousands. Just wondering about the legitimacy of the shipping quote? Feels like heavy gouging.

DHL is probably air freight.
On larger items, the slow boat option might make more sense. Just means you have to wait longer.

If they give you the exact box size and weight, you could call/chat one or two shippingcompany's if they can help you find the best solution (pricewise).
Oh, and if you put it in the online calculator(s) DHL always comes out quite high. But they have more than the premium/platinum shipping method.
You should look at DPD shipping too. DPD can handle large size also with better deal. I have used them for (the arh-medusa) fridge size box.
Goodluck, bcs 1600 is robbery.
