No build up, no "coming soon", I'd never heard of this book, but the Darwyn Cooke cover grabbed my eye today at the LCS. So-so day, so I scooped it.
Holy Smokes! What a killer 1st issue. I thought it was going to be a throw-back, WWII, Weird-War Tales kinda book, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I'm still fresh from the read, but I think this book's 1st ish is as good as The Afterlife With Archie book it was that surprising. Very cool, very creepy, very fresh, which is high-praise from me in today's comic environment. It has a traditional zombie thing going on, but not like you'd expect. It also has a Punisher vibe & even a feel from that Mike Carey/Greg Land, Legion of Monsters piece from a decade back. Horror hounds ... you should pick this up. I think this thing could get big.
Jimmy Palmiotti wrote it & Scott Hampton drew it. I found the D. Cooke variant cover which was easy.
Get G.I. Zombie.
