Daredevil #7
Okay, I've always been a Mark Waid fan. He's the most consistently great writer since Stan Lee and Roy Thomas. Even Roger Stern and Ed Brubaker, two of my other favorite writers, had their off days. But Waid? He's the most consistently brilliant comic book writer of the last few decades.
This issue unveils the history of Matt's estranged but always present (since Miller's work, anyway) mother, Maggie. It explains her departure and absence from his life and reunites them in the most beautiful and poignant, not to mention socially relevant, way.
What a great issue.
Bravo.
