What is the most you will pay or have paid for silver age comics?
Hi guy's
Just started collecting older comics again. Mostly silver age. What is the most $$$ you guy's spent on older comics. I like to keep it around $40-150 depending on the comic, but what is the most you guys have spend or willing to spend on silver age covers?
Cheers,

I spent $1000 on Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2 (both books for a grand). Neither were in great shape, but the #1 was about a 3.0, and the #2 was about a 2.0.
Super glad to have both in my collection, though!

Wow.. That's a pretty nice collection to have. I been looking around trying to find some gems in my area for years but i had no luck. People are asking way too much for some comics. There is couple Comic shows in Calgary coming out this month that i will check out but going to be hard finding what i am looking for(Most of the good stuff gets picked through). I don't do e-bay anymore since i got burned couple times getting comics from there. Once in a while my Local comic store will get something in that i will grab.

$700 for a Hulk #1. Wish I still had it too - but I was made an offer I couldn't refuse.

As with anything it depends on how much you want it. There are a few comics that I want from that era in high grade.
I wish I was more aware of older comic conditions and prices in the mid to late 90s. CGC wasn't around then, there was too much hype (and lateness) over modern comics, everyone had an opinion about comic prices (which should have been a sign for me to sell those early Spawn issues at high prices), and I was concerned about other things and just starting getting into the condition of comics and other items. I remember seeing Amazing Fantasy #15 and early Amazing Spider-Man issues and thinking they were expensive then. But I'm sure if I was more aware of condition that I could have easily made tons selling those graded now.
