The Avengers VS Avatar at the Box Office
Sooo.. I remember when I started the thread if Avatar would pass Titanic at the Box Office.. not many where with me... And see how that turned out..
So what do you say.... you think Avengers can top Avatar?
I think at least it will be the most grossing of all the Marvel DC Hereo movies... what you guys and gals think?..

I think it'll be the highest grossing for the year but won't top Avatar. Then again, having checked the top 50, none of the Avengers are on the list. Maybe it'll be The Hobbit.

I'm guessing $380-$400 domestic for Avengers, and another $400 International. Won't come close to Avatar. But what it hopefully will do is create a standard for Kick Ass Super Team movies like JLA, the next Fantastic Four and a new X-Men that is much closer to the comic. Hollywood is the "me too" capital of the world. If Avengers becomes a mega blockbuster, expect others to follow the trend. The good news is if that happens with JLA for instance, maybe Green Lantern can be redeemed (with a different actor) so the character is not trying to carry an entire movie but is instead a member of the team with a powerful ring. Would also get to see Wonder Woman, Flash and maybe one or two other favorites.
I also think Batman will beat it.

The Avengers will pull in some cash but nowhere near Avatar numbers IMO and mark my words - The Dark Knight Rises will destroy it.
