This is a huge discrepancy. I buy these knowing that discrepancies are inevitable, but they don't even look remotely similar. I might just have to use the collector's head. This EX portrait just doesn't look good.

I don't think the portraits are bad, but those seams around his neck are very noticeable. I thought SS would have gone too a little more trouble to hide them.

Ironically I think I might prefer the regular portrait now and I was ex or fail before.

I did however try to paint my face in the style of the ex on Halloween just past and it came out more like the production piece than the proto. So maybe it's more true to life - or maybe I'm just as bad at face painting as the factories are at painting these.

But this isn’t exactly like when the photos are badly taken. We have good angles and light in the video and an example of how the ‘skull’ face paint appears to have been done by the factory. And the piece shown isn’t any random piece, it’s the one Sideshow chose to show us.

An example of a badly taken production pic which everyone at first concentrated on the headsculpt is that recent Prime 1 JL Superman shot which had bad lighting, angle and lens choice etc. And even that one showed us that the fabric costume could be an issue.

Not that bad

I get people being angry it doesn't look the same, but if the production piece was the one revealed instead of the prototype, I still would have liked it.
