I think it will take place somewhere between Archer and Kirk, not after Picard.

The ship does not look like anything after Picard's time for sure.

I don't like the ship at all personally. Never did like that concept.

Are people really going to subscribe to CBS' streaming service just to watch this show?

CBS has been annoying me as of late as they pull their pilots from my cable's on demand service. I missed the start of Braindead and was going to catchup via on demand, but there's no pilot listed. CBS pulls this BS because they want you to subscribe. This is really dumb as they should stream pilots for free to lure people in.

I for one couldn't care less about this Trek show. Maybe I'll watch it once it is on Netflix but I doubt that will ever happen since CBS thinks they are big enough to stream their on stuff.

I won't be subscribing to CBS streaming service and this is coming from a life long Star Trek fan. They sold the exclusive rights to Netflix to broadcast the show everywhere except North America. It smacks of a blatant cash grab by CBS and I won't be supporting it. If I never see the show then so be it but my money will be going elsewhere.

Bryan Fuller Stepping Back From Showrunner Role on ‘Star Trek: Discovery’

"Fuller, who will remain an executive producer, will still be involved in breaking stories, and the show will continue to follow his vision for the universe that this latest “Trek” series will inhabit. Writer-director Akiva Goldsman is also expected to join “Discovery” in a top creative role."

Wish Netflix would get the rights to make a show 20 years after TNG and bring some of the stars back as guests.

This new CBS show sounds and looks terrible.
