Literally, the theatre I was in cringed and vocally spoke up. I said, "what the hell?!"

My theater showing reacted in the same cringe-worthy fashion, especially when she removed her top.

I think Bruce Timm was off his game here by adding in this whole sequence.

Completely unnecessary.

I do recall a few laughing here and there. I don't think this was the effect the writers were going for.

So they base a film off a book then change it? WOW so unlike DC and then crash and burn.

Yeah, since no other picture company does that.

I think a few in my audience went..... "woah" but that was it.
There was some applause when the credits rolled.

Tempest in a teapot I think over it all.

One could pick up the story right when The Killing Joke proper starts and not even need to watch the beginning Batgirl stuff. That material wasn't really changed.

Really enjoyed this movie by the DC animation studio. I felt the Batgirl portion was well done and it was entertaining seeing new content. It may feel superfluous to some, but I think it was essential. You can't assume that all viewers recognize Batgirl and her importance to Batman and the comic universe. You have to showcase Babs to give the shooting event and what she loses more weight.

Yeah, the kiss (and then some) with her and Batman surprised me, but I wasn't put off. I've always viewed The Killing Joke as a borderline Elseworlds tale; it gives specifics to Joker's origin, and that alone is reason enough. And this feature gave Batman every incentive for the controversial finish, if that's how you choose to interpret it.

Really well done movie IMO.

As a side, I always enjoy Tara Strong as Harley Quinn. She owns the role as much as Conroy's Batman or Hamill's Joker. Didn't realize she voiced Batgirl as often as she does.

As much as I like Strong, Arleen Sorkin will always be my favorite Harley.

Maybe so. The point here was the drastic sway from the source material just have Batman under Bruce Wayne's player persona take advantage of his friends daughter, regardless of who was the aggressor.

Very gratuitous and unnecessary as several have negatively voiced. This wasn't a positive spin.
