My cape also has very minimal fraying, but did have some strings hanging out the seam line in one corner. Another legitimate gripe IMO. And the body is definitely polystone as advertised. It is MUCH heavier than the MOS pf. Can't really tell if the head and hands are PVC, I see absolutely no seam lines at all on mine. The paint work on the face is really well done, only wish they added some eyelash or eye-lining of some kind around the eyes. I think that would have helped the likeness and made the eyes less intense and more life like but overall as far as the sculpt I think its very well done, looks a lot like Reeve. Overall it is extremely accurate to the prototype and for that I am thankful. I love the base, the "chess" piece doesn't show up in the Besta as it sort of blends into the dark wood. And water effect is really really cool looking! And I think the likeness to Reeve is definitely there!!

The face does look strikingly life like in mattman68's pics.
Some pics of the eyes still look like they have warping, a cause of Sideshow's googly eyes.
I thought PVC's process was supposed to produce a near exact copy from the original?

This is what you're saying looks "better", right? So, if Sideshow had scrapped their proto pics months ago, and replaced it with this, you would be championing it as an improvement?

lol. Okay I was being sarcastic. But all jokes aside SS screwed the pooch on this one.

If I pay $500 and I get a frayed cape and a lopsided stitched chest symbol like these I might not drive to an employees house and shove it down their throat but I damn sure will broadcast it any and everywhere.

There is a slight advantage to the NECA face as it is in better proportion to his body.
I also agree with others that the SS hands seem much smaller and also his ass could use some padding.

I have to admit at first I thought that this piece was a big miss. However after seeing several reviews and in house pics it l@@ks much nicer.
Pros: Head Sculpt, Skin Tone & Costume
Cons: Pose could have been better, Base should have been the rocky dam from top to bottom & needed a overall heavier base for stability. Also the S emblem is off noting like the prototype.
