I remember seeing pictures of this "back in the day" and was astonished back then as well as seeing it today.
Vader - MOST of the Chaos! Comics characters were acquired by comicshop "Tales of Wonder" who purchased the rights to the characters through the Chaos! bankruptcy auction years back.

Yeah, Vader, the Chaos! characters are still out there. Also, we were paid for the project...so even the sculpt technically belongs to whomever we sculpted it for.

I'm no lawyer but in order to get permission to release a Cremator kit, the Shifletts would have to acquire a license from Tales of Wonder, as well as permission from DST. Both would probably want some compensation from the Shifletts for granting rights for a Cremator kit.
