On the topic of texture, I used to own Sideshow's first 1/4 Wolverine PF, back in 2010, and I remember it having quite a lot of it too. And as pdenham said, it was something you really only noticed if you saw the piece up close.
The overlong claws do look silly to me, though, even in the context of silly-looking costumed superheroes, and I would have thought a sculptor aiming for anatomy... correctness... would have had something like that in mind. But then I'm aware some people do like that exaggerated look.

I love the exaggerated look! Hell, the comics were overly exaggerated! Stemming from Spiderman, Hulk, Wolverine, hell....ALL OF THEM! It's what makes statue collecting so much fun! If I wanted a real life Bodybuilder - I'd have someone sculpt a mold of one! No homo! I mean seriously - you ever see great leather over time. It looks warn down.

Good grief, dramatic much? You being OK with them doesn't make his boots any less than super textured lol. Nothing about them says worn leather to me.

And FWIW I actually like exaggerated features on Wolverine, like "too long" claws, super flared boots, etc, but I think it looks best on something like a MvC design, not really a more realistic 1/3 scale LBS piece.

in the right context it can be cool, theyre obviously going for realistic / lifelike so the long claws seem completely out of place
he looks like a boss here, i dont care that the claws are too long because EVERYTHING is exaggerated

There is such a thing as "too little" texture and it's opposite extreme ..."too much" texture. In this case, its too much. It sticks out ...especially on a statue.
Same thing with proportions ...if it's off, it will stand out in a statue. Especially knowing his claws has too fit in his forearm.

I agree. In some instances exaggerated features work, but not in others.

Didn't know Logan was a fan of durags.
Actually, it is a pretty cool looking statue of Wolverine despite the heavy texture. It looks quite classic to me. I like it way better than their Batman and Superman assuming it is sculpted by LBS as well.
