Don't know. I have been down in Costa Rica for the last 2 weeks and I don't really use the internet when I am down there. Tonight was the first time I have seen the production pics.

A LOT of people order the regulars. People overseas, people looking to buy directly from a local store, or people just looking to try and shave some $$$ of the price. Looking at Sideshow's sales over the past 2 years, they have had absolutely zero problem selling out with thier regular (non EX) editions, even with pieces that had high edition sizes.

Plus you never know if Sideshow does any touch up work with Photoshop for some of thier prototype pieces. For all we know, they might have done some slight adjustments to make the skin tone seem a tad bit softer in PS. Since the prototype pics are the pics that many people base thier decision to order on, I could definitely see them doing a bit of PS work to make the piece just look that much nicer. I don't think they would ever do drastic PS work, but subtle changes like making the skin tone a tad bit softer, I could definitely see that type of thing being done here and there. Since nobody buys the prototype and production pieces rarely ever match the prototype pieces perfectly, they could easily get away with minor PS adjustments on their prototypes.

Today I received an email from SS posting a link to the latest photos. The photos are news to me.
I like what Captain Marvel is standing on, although I wish SS left out the round base. XM Studios never felt the need to added a round base to Ms Marvel's base.
Photoshop'ed - round base removed

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

ah, no worries. They've been up for at least a week or so, also in this thread. I like how she turned out, bodes well for DP, which I have on order. Not a huge fan of the shine effect all over, but someone has already addressed this issue in this thread also.

Me to. If for some reason the statue arrives with weird eyes, atleast the head detaches and they can send out a new head.
Captain Marvel along with Catwoman represent my 1st SS-PF statues, what are they packed in?
Sponge foam works so much better than polystyrene.

They are packed in polystyrene, Ukshaun. In certain areas there will be sponge to protect from rubbing and add a little more protection.

That's bad news. Not unless SideShow resin is somehow stronger than Gentle Giant resin. Captain Marvel looks solid enough. With luck SideShow will have designed the polystyrene not to break in transit. XM Studios with their sponge foam is the ideal packaging.
