in a sense - i get it, theyre doing new versions of the OT crew and they wanted him available for new customers. i think they should have changed the portrait in a addition to the base if they didnt want to do a ground up new sculpt though

The portrait for Chewbacca did have some modifications done to it, so it is not an exact copy of the original portrait as seen in the previous Chewbacca Premium Format Figure release.

i looked at both the original and new versions several times before saying that so i didnt stick my foot in my mouth lol - even knowing that now that you say it i still cant see a difference to be honest (maybe im blind). i guess a closed mouth would have been more in line with what i meant, something that sets it very obviously apart from the original. the new base looks awesome btw, i do prefer it to the original

i guess i prefer it to the original if im to be honest, still would have been nice to have the mouth closed to set them apart a little more
