Wow, man.
I really love the blend of heavy duty milspec gear and his classic threads, his demeanour and the pose.
I can imagine him fighting alongside Cap...or him doing solo black-ops missions.
Really great work on the details, EPang.
I dig the redone shoulder armour and the veins on his arms ;-)

Keep 'em coming ;-)

Lars- thanks so much for the comment. It's really great to hear how others react to the piece. It's very motivational.

PEGS

Sometimes I like to use a simple peg to key in smaller accessories that can be added on separately.
Tools:
- Small dowel rod 1/8" diameter
- 1/8" drill bit to match
- electric drill
- apoxie putty
- Vaseline
- ss firm clay

1. First, I pick a spot that I can drill the peg hole.
2. Next, I drill a shallow hole. About 1/4"-1/2" deep
3. I cut the dowel to size and then check to make sure it fits correctly
4. I then apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the area where the accessory will be sculpted, mix some epoxy putty and smush it roughly in the area ill be sculpting
5. Once the epoxy is cured I remove the plug and get it ready for clay application
6. I apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the epoxy peg and mock in a rough canteen
7. Further refined canteen
8. Red dots indicate the drilled holes for the pegs. I like to keep the holes fairly small incase I decide against the accessories in the future, it is easy to fill in and blend.

So here is the final turnaround before i go through the whole sanding/cleaning up phase. I'm still working on all the swap-out/alternate parts, but I'm done with the general sculpting of the main piece.

Thanks for looking.
