Have you ever seen a ghost?

I've posted this thread over on the CGC boards for many years around Halloween time, so thought I'd try it here.

Of course, the obvious answer to the thread title is "no, ghosts don't exist." But, some people have had odd experiences, and I think it's fun to hear them this time of year.

So...ever seen a ghost?

Nope, but I did have visual hallucinations due to a high fever once.

If I were to adapt my memories of things I "saw" as a kid into a movie, it'd probably be fairly scary/creepy. As a kid I've seen mostly demons, with a ghost here and there as well.

Caught this on camera. Not sure if its a ghost or aliens, but it came out of the trees

Strongly agreed. Human brain is capable of a lot of false perceptions.

Stayed in a homeaway once. Woke up to what sounded like a door handle being jiggled, but I was the first one up and nobody else was around. Late on another night, there were creaky footsteps walking across the roof over my head. Another night something was knocking on the kitchen counter, sounded like with a piece of silverware.

My own take is that ghosts and demons are the same. The occultist Manly P Hall claimed that ghosts were elemental spirits who mimicked the living.

Almost certainly the case, but I still find it an enjoyable conversation. I'm very open to the possibility, but haven't experienced anything even slightly supernatural, but I have friends that I trust who've had odd experiences.

For example, my father-in-law is the most practical person that I've ever known. He doesn't believe in anything that he can't see, touch, or for which there's scientific evidence. But, he never felt comfortable in the first house he shared with my mother-in-law. Eventually, they sold the house, and while moving out, he was carrying a small TV across the living room when he was violently shoved from behind. My mother-in-law was upstairs at the time, and no one else was in the house.
