Yeah already felt that increase with their iron man.
Really sucks, this hobby is so expensive to begin with.
Luckily for me I have about a handful of statues left to add to my collection, including grails and I'll be done.
I'll always keep the door open for a special piece down the road that comes out that I fall in love with.
But I'm over the hill on building my collection.

If statues go up 30% then scale back severely and really only get absolute must buys.

This and eliminate the FOMO mentality.
You'll feel so much better and have more money in your pocket.

Raw materials are a pittance percentage of the manufacturing cost and selling price of statues.
A few points for consideration:
1.You know those outrageous shipping costs direct from Prime 1? All statues originate from the same place so who do you think pays shipping to Sideshow? Who pays for the container shortages and receiving dock backups?
2. China's standard of living continues to increase. That means their labor costs more.
3. More statues produced now than in the history of the hobby. Think that means more employment opportunities at factories? All this availability of choice comes at the cost of the end buyer. Imagine eBay auctions for factory production time.

Will be interesting to see how it turns out..
I think discretionary spending will likely be curtailed as it goes up… which will lead to a condensing of makers, or a price drop. Unless people start making more money …. But that remains to be seen.

In Australia the 1/10 scale statues now cost as much as 1:4 Premium Formats did in 2013.... It's crazy

You could buy an entire hut, designer loincloths, a pair of bongos, and a giant club 10,000 years ago for the price of a 1/12 statue today. Truly unacceptable.

Yeah, I really have to focus and likely miss out on some pieces I like to keep my collection under control budget wise. I'm almost glad that my space issues will start in 2023 once all my outstanding pre orders are fulfilled.
