I was against this when I first heard it but the idea has grown on me. Pattinson's actually a solid actor, everyone just keeps thinking of him as the vampire from Twilight but he's done good work in other movies like The Rover and Good Time. He seems dedicated to his craft and I think he would dive deep into the role if he does get it. I would prefer a slightly older Batman, someone like Jake Gyllenhaal would've been great, but if they're going younger and the other choices are Hoult and Johnson then I think I'd prefer Pattinson.

You blame Whedon for Justice League is an average movie and not Synder who shot the majority of the movie? I think there is only so much he could have done with the movie that had already been shot.
Ben had his chance to direct and star in the movie and passed upon it knowing the complete mess that is WB/DC. It appears with WW and Aquaman that things are heading in the right direction. I think this casting is strange but maybe it will work. He is a solid actor outside of those god awful vampire movies.

Wheadon over-corrected. He restored Superman to the smiling beacon of hope I wanted to see (at least in the third act). But Batman cracking wise like a Marvel hero was pretty jarring.
"Something's definitely bleeding..." who can ever imagine any sane version of Batman (post-1986) saying that to himself?
But yeah, you're right in that Snyder deserves most of the blame for the whole spectacular failure of the Superman trilogy overall, and JL specifically.
Justice League means SEVEN, Snyder. Not six, seven.
In my opinion, Snyder is great at translating a graphic novel to screen panel-for-panel when he already has a good story (300, Watchmen); but has little knowledge or respect for the characters and little understanding of their overall themes to be able to craft a good story on his own. Kind of the same problem D&D have shown they suffer from. It's all about shock and subversion with him.
I wouldn't be so mad if he made some bad movies in isolation. But in the process he ruined some truly great storylines that deserved a better adaptation. We had a chance to see them in live action, and now we may have to wait decades before they even consider trying it again.

Pattison is a lot darker than people give him credit for. I was hesitant about Affleck, but grew to adore him as Batman. He is pretty lean, so I hope he can get a little bulkier. Kinda like Bale can change per role.
Let's face it - most Batman castings have been decent. Nobody but Clooney was atrocious and I'm not sure if it was him OR the total sh!tshow of that movie. I'm taking RP with a grain of salt and if the movie looks good - I will give them my money.
