There have been many animals in the sea found to be alive still after thought to be extinct for millions of years. Some found to be alive and well just a few years ago. For example:

Frilled shark
Coelacanth
Ribbon fish
....just to name a few. If we were to find freshly lost meg tooth on the sea floor it would confirm one is still alive. Would be a really exciting day if that happend.
This footage gets you thinking if it is still alive. This is reportedly not fake, whatever was caught in this video is tough to say. All we know is, it's big!

Ya it almost looks like a whale shark which have the same spots on it's back. Problem is it's head doesn't appear to be flat and square shaped like a whale shark. The mystery of it all is always exciting.
