Rule 1 of starting a successful comic con -- don't have the dates conflict with another con that has countless guests already signed up to attend
Boston Comic Con is the same weekend

You'll get all the good deals that way.
Boston's con is a great example of how to start and build a con. Its really grown over the last 5 years.

Not a bad kick-off. Enjoyed myself. Scored some nice Silver & Bronze. Aisles wearn't wide enough & by 1pm, there were major road blocks. Other than that, fun and room to grow. Forget the Diamond Comic Distribution and a pretty strong & growing LCS scene is all around us in DC. In the heart of the revitalized DC, right near a major sports center, you couldn't ask for a larger collection oof great restaurants & museums near by. Stuffed myself of barbeque & suds after.

Seattle's is as well. It seems like every year it gets 10x bigger and better.
