Well all in all the con was a lot of fun for me as a first timer. Lots of cosplay but none done too terribly well there was a small group of crazy 88's with gogo that I snapped a pic of. So much art to take in it blew my fuse. I found it rather funny that Michael Golden looked quite lonely every time I passed his booth. I dont think I ever saw one person up talking to him or looking at his stuff. Go figure eh?
No new statues to look at either but lots of vendors with overpriced SS stuff. Almost pulled the trigger on a Weta Kong vs V-rex but guy wouldnt budge on his price. Would been kind of a ----- carrying it the mile back to my buddies place but I would have
Had a great conversation with Doug Wheatley but was bummed his SW prints all sold out at the Seattle show so he came empty handed to Minneapolis. Great guy and artist.
Also was able to talk to Chris Ehnot and Jason Metcalf at the Zenescope booth. They gave me the rundown on the background of a couple pieces I was looking at as well as just BS,ed with me for a while about art where they come from with their stuff. Picked up a couple of prints from Chris and one from Jason.
Also had a god look through and brief conversation with Otis Frampton. He has some great art it puts a smile on my mug so I decided to grab one and get it signed. All in all it was a great time I cant imagine being able to go to SDCC. That would def need a weekend or two day pass.
