I see the point you are trying to make, but a directors cut was not available when the first HD release was made. So it is not the same as Die Hard 4.0.

I would not be surprised if Warner new that a Directors Cut was in the pipeline when they released the original on HD.

Am I the only one who thinks Director's Cuts are usually a crock of sh!t? They have four or five seconds of extra footage....a guy's a$$ (partial nudity)and a little more gore...and that's the GOOD one's I've seen. Oh and i didn't get the joke about Troy...what gives?

The joke is that it is being re-released on HD.

I personelly like Directors Cuts of movies.

True but then it is a double dip. The directors cut of Troy comes out the same day on HD and DVD.

For Die Hard the unrated cut comes out on DVD the same day as the PG-13 cut for Blu Ray.

All I want is whatever version is out on DVD to match what is being released on HD, if studios want to double dip, whatever, but at least make the releases match.

Yes unfortunately there is no excuse for DH4. I believe the rumour is, they did not include the unrated version due to not having sufficient time to master the additional footage in HD. Lame!
