Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I think the overall tone of the book is going to change. I didn't mind the last story, (where can you read an Earth-2 story these days) and the Maquire art is always welcome. I'll hang on for the first few issues of Sciver's run (I think he's on for 6 issues, which will be a year).

Ugh, this was the only arc up to that point in the series I felt completely fell apart.

I only read the occasional issue from this series and it leaves me with the same feelings I get watching Lost on TV.

WTH is going on?

Ditto. The thing with the Loeb/McGuinness team is you gotta go into it expecting a fun story, nothing too in-depth. And seeing as how it was the sequel to Emperor Joker & brought the Bat-Mite into current continuity...I liked it.

I'm not holding out too much hope for the series now that they're gone.

What the hell's with DC, anyway, for not yet packaging Emperor Joker into a trade?

I thought Mxy's reference to Joker that DC hadn't done this yet to be the coolest part of the story arc, actually.

I agree, it was very confusing, and the long delays didn't help, but in the end it made sense in a joker sort of way. Need to read emporor joker too

I liked the series, but pretty much only for the art. I like Loeb's stuff usually, but the whole Supes/Bats series has been confusing from issue 1. Way, way too much time travel/alternate usniverse crap going on, with Infinite Crisis happening around it.

On top of that, you needed to have a PHD in the DC Universe to understand half the stories. I liked how Loeb got as many characters as possible in the stories for the artists, but the whole story felt convoluted and impenetrable to the average reader. And this is a flagship title!

And to top it all off, Loeb leaves and the first story of the new team is even more confusing! ARRRGGHH!

Haha...I had to smile when I read that too...especially since a friend (who I gave a story rundown to) wants to read this collected too.
