Alright answer to #1) 87.50... he discounts the price by 25 dollars he sells 500... based on this... if he discounts the price by 62.50, he will liquidated everything

4) 31.88 / 425.00 = .075 which translates to 7.5 % - So tax on the Dvd Player would be 15.00. 200.00 x 7.5% = 15.00

4. is pretty easy-

just a tax question, just have to find the tax rate:

31.88 / 4.25 = $7.501 per $100.00 or 7.501 % tax on the dollar

additional tax on the DVD would be: $ 15.002

that's pretty easy and I'm sure you figured that one out...I'm a work and will get to more if I can!

I came up with $95.48 for #1. I wish I could remember the formulas. The way I calculate it, though is for every drop in price of 16 2/3% you sell an extra 500 units.

I theorized that a 25.00 discount will sell 500 units... so if you wanted to move 1250 units... you would discount the price 62.50.

That's not right, but my answer is not right either. Every decrease of 16.667% results in a sales increase of 16.667%. Price and Sales have an inverse relationship. Like I said, If I could remember how to translate this into formulas this would be cake. I'm just too rusty.

now you know how i feel!
the problem is the "showing your work". this means that it has to be in an equation format. that's been my headache. last week when i did her quiz, i came up w/the answers right away but then had to figure out how to make an equation out of it which was the bieach. so i spent like 95% of the time researching trying to find the formulas.

Hey! Isn't doing your girls assignment for her CHEATING?????? Everyone who has contributed an answer is considered an accomplice. This could be our first group ban on moral grounds.
