Superman: Year One

Frank Miller announced that he will make a 100 pages long Superman comics with John Rominta Jr. in SDCC and the title later revealed as The Year One.

I hope Superman: Year One will be as good as Batman: Year One. I would rather see that than see something crazy like ASBAR. (unlike the majority, i enjoyed ASBAR though )

I hear Superman fans say that this will be an appology to Superman. I can understand that after ASBAR cause Batman called Superman Stupid in it and Superman acted so immature, actually all the super heroes in the book acted so immature... but i don't see any problem in dipiction of Superman in The Dark Knight Returns. I don't think there is any reason to appologies cause Batman beated Superman abit. I mean that was so cool. Miller really knows how to pull which string to make Batman look cool like make him beat the epitome of power, Superman. It was simply this, i don't think Miller hates Superman or anything like some Superman fans say and i believe Superman: Year One will prove that. I'm really excited about it.

Miller made Superman a government tool and stooge in DKR. Superman, like Captain America, always acts out of his own sense of justice and integrity. He has never been a government tool. I love DKR for its storytelling and groundbreaking (at the time) and shocking plot lines, plot turns and art. But Miller handled Superman with disdain and disrespect in this story. He's due an apology to this character.

But, Miller's past his prime and I'd hold out no hope that this Year One will be as good as Batman: Year One, which is one of the single best and timeless modern comic book stories ever created.

I don't think a government tool who is a stooge take on Superman that offensive. I mean there is even a Nazi Superman... And no one asks any appology for that but a government tool superman is too offensive ? lol

Unless you guys really hate your government more than Nazis ?

Both are offensive but a Nazi Superman (which I've never heard of) would at least be intended to be a villain.

Yeah, he's a villain. It's an elseworld though like TDKR. The idea is what if baby superman's spaceship landed in Nazi Germany in WW II times instead of America. But that's not the canon Superman. That's an elseworld new superman who is not canon. there is a commie superman too who is not a villain but pretty much a goverment tool, he's stalin's poster child and stuff. And i don't think anyone needs to appologies for any of those elsewold none canon new takes on Superman. Afterall They are not The ''real'' canon Superman of the main univese.
