This frustrated me. The QC issue, I mean. Companies can take two routes with regard to production -charge slightly more for better quality, or maintain prices and opt for lesser quality.
Sadly, somehow Sideshow has increased prices and opted for lesser quality.
I am always curious of their persistence to categorize defective statues as damaged. I honestly believe that they're filing a shipping claim on all defective items as "damaged" as to recover losses from shipping replacements. That is the only valid reasoning I can come up with as to why they're okay with sh-- quality on 30% of a massive edition size. IDK though.
Smaller editions like this piece seriously need to be done in-house with a premium surcharge. An ES of 150 is so low they could knock that out with their own team.
Edit: Side note about shipping...I always notice my replacement and placed very gently at my door, rather than just dropped. This makes me believe it's noted in the UPS logs that the prior shipment was damaged. How else would this be noted unless a claim had been filed with the shipper? Anyhow.
