So just to be clear……, when needing to sync up the the remote control on the hover chair version……, do I need to have the remote control opened to reveal the battery or can it be sealed up/closed in order for me to sync it?
Do I hold down a button or something for a couple of seconds or anything?

sadly no but thank you for sending that regardless. I have three fresh AAA batteries under the hover chair, I have a fresh CR battery in the remote control (which lights up red LED when depressed) and also have the switch to "On" underneath as well. Nothing. I even pushed in that little button to the side as well to see if there is a need to "sync" it like many others have mentioned.
nada.
The new batteries I placed into the console are new as well and light up just fine.

Did anyone ever try to mod one of the two Cerebro portraits to have no helmet? What’s underneath the helmet?

I'm from ISRAEL so shipping back and forth will kill the price. Just find a statue repair in your local country.
