Any I believe they also do minor photoshop retouches, noting major but making eyes a bit more vivid, maybe adjusting the paint lines to make them look more smooth...

On topic again: This TR statue is more than just the face sculpt. The previous TR sculpt differs in production from the prototype, so maybe likeness in the facial structure is Weta's weaker spot, but the added environment, the Jaguar or dinosaurs, the pose... make it so attractive I don't bother that much as some do. I think for a statue with a more boring museum pose look this would be more crucial.
Likeness is very hard to get right on any statue, and even from one piece to another of the same statue are painted differently at the factory that can affect how it looks also.

The retailer offered a partial refund of EUR 240. I took that offer; going to touch it up but will have it restored/repainted by a pro in the near future. I am not sure if WETA is/was going to replace it.

Probably not worth a repaint unless the peeling gets worse. Weta won't replace it once you accept the credit.

Yeah, I think I will just carefully remove the flaky pieces and try to touch it up a bit. Will be moving next year and hope it doesn't get any more worse when I transport it. Not sure if Weta is ever going to get this resolved.

Are you saying you expect Weta to give you a replacement even after getting the credit?

No, what I am saying is that I don't expect Weta to ever pick this issue up. Especially after all this time. So that's why I took the partial refund from the retailer (who got it from the distributor). If they do pick it up and provide replacements to those who didn't settle for a credit, good for those people, if they get the replacement intact (those things are fragile as f@ck). I don't have the patience to wait for a company to finally do something about their Customer Service.

So you contacted Weta directly and they just never got back to you? In my experience they have almost always been great about fixing issues. I got one bad rep years ago, but another one was glad to help.

Yeah, I'll await the response of the retailer. Mostlikely I can touch it up although the peeling concerns me.

Overall pleased with it but not the way she is diplayed at the moment.

....well I'm ----ing jealous of that collection. Could you do some close-up pics of the top three cases? There's a bunch of stuff in there that I don't recognize (but would love to own).

Took more pictures last month. My eyes always go between this and Prime 1 Red Sonja. I know the face is a miss but I don?t give a crap, this was well worth it for me.

Here you go, all of my TR crap; nothing to be jealous about though.
