Good insight. The bubble gots to burst sometime.
Aftermarket is a good start
Don't know if there are really any rare pieces anymore
And with new quality coming out and characters being redone every year don't really see them being sought out like in the past:
In the pet you got one wolverine and one hulk for how long.....? Now it's ever year right

Not to be offensive I’ve spent a lifetime chasing comics and statues since about late 2000s and I want to do other things . Most of the time unless I’m showing my stuff off to guests or whoever I don’t notice they are there anymore .
This hobby will continue to pump out better and better pieces at crazy price tags I’m content wrapping up around now . Few characters to go and some original art I’m out!

Collecting statues is a great side-hobby, since it doesn't require loads of attention.
But I totally agree, at some point we should just be happy with what we have - space is also an issue for many people and I can't see myself rotating any pieces out, since I only buy stuff I really like.

Its a contradiction of everything SS has said regarding price, that size, detail, complexity and engineering translate to cost. Still cant wrap my head around how freeze is 5$ less than cable, even more surprised that SS management was confident enough to post it at this price.

Very very pricey but I think it’s an awesome sculpt . I don’t think it’s lacking in details . I’ll wait and judge that until close ups are revealed.

Yes, it’s great. Nobody is questioning/disputing that. But is it as dynamic and detailed as Thor or Cable from head to toe? Sure as hell no. Worth that price tag? Sure as hell no.
INO the base really does the rest of the Freeze statue a disservice.

If we don’t consider Cable and Thor who are from a different license and compare Freeze to Harley, Catwoman and Joker it’s still bad. All three Gotham rogues are more complex, have a better EX, and way way cheaper? Is Sideshow jacking up the price because he will sell less units?
He has the least “bang for buck” ratio out of all sideshow statues imo (along with Juggernaut and Gladiator Hulk maquette).

Not a bad theory, That's all I keep asking myself, how many can they plan on selling? 1500 total? 1000? I think if they can break a 1000, it would be amazing.
And if that's that status quo, can we make other lesser known characters to a low ES with a higher price tag?
