I've mainly gone to all So. California conventions (comic focus) and the majority of the artists I ask say that they love Emerald City Comic Con with the comic-focus.

As a comic-con, SDCC isn't what I'll term as a "fun" comic-focused show anymore, more of a spectacle with tons of traffic.

That's what I thought it would be like (SDCC that is). While it's still ages away (and I have to confirm the actual trip) are there cheap hostels/motels/hotels near Heroes? Aka under say $65ish per person a night?

I badly want to do Heroes but the thing that works against it for me is that it's not a great time to travel. I'm determined to do a con next year though, either Heroes or NYCC (most likely NYCC, but that could change).

I would say the one in Seattle or Heroes in Charlotte, NC if you can't go to San Diego.
