Sorry it took a while, i had 3-4 statues arrived within few days so it took a while to go over them. while i kinda rushed through them checking their detail, i did took some picture for your guys.
To answer the first question, you cannot display Alastor anywhere but his back. i was hoping, i can also attach the alastor on his hand and leave the back without anything but there is a a big rectangle shaped hole on his back and will look weird without the alastor. Alastor also has the rod sticking out from the side. i mean you can have him without alastor on his back as long as you don't have his back exposed and display him from the front. the way you attack the sword in his hand is first the tip of Sparda's hilt comes out, you slide the rod within his hand and screw the tip back from the other side. I posted the picture below so you can see what i mean.
First two picture if you look at the end of Sparda, you can see the rod. 3rd picture shows the tip of the hilt which you can screw it to keep the sword in his hand.
Alastor is very light while Sparda is bit more heavy. So to display it I think you suppose to rest Sparda on top of the base. Detail on the Alastor are good and while holding it, it felt like a large dagger. Sparda is even larger and felt like a short sword. detail on the sparda looked blur. i know this is how it looks in the ps1 game but they could have added some details and made it look sharper. But the red beads on the sparda looks nice.
Head sculpt and statue itself looks pretty much looks like the prototype. the way it is painted, the material and the size if i were to compare, i would say they are pretty much similar to prime1 1/3 collection of superman and batman I have. So they did a pretty good job with that. Overall since DMC 1 Dante is my most favorite one, i really like the statue. It is pretty big but than again i did went with 1/3 size instead of 1/4.
Two boxes it came with are really big if you look at the last picture. first box is the biggest and heaviest which has the base. the other box is the statue and all the parts. It comes with a certificate but i rather prefer those poster like certificate other studio offer with a nice art work on it. Or those authentic card/metal frame that you can display beside the statue.
