The Problem is 80% of the channels on cable are complete junk, hardly anyone watches them...
Cable Companies don't care if they lose subscribers because the cable companies own Internet access, so when streaming starts to seriously cut into their cable business be prepared to start seeing price tier's (which they have been experimenting on for the last couple years) So those who stream movies and tv shows are going to be put into higher tiers that cost as much as it did back when they had cable tv...
Cable companies will get their money one way or another.
